Haven't Been Here For A While....

I was looking over some of my older posts and saw one for this gorgeous English shop,
Decorative Country Living.
There are some divine new things here since my last visit and a great Easter range. A little late now but you could get in early for next year.
I had an op-shopping binge today - 5 shops in one hour! I scored some great stuff. I couldn't believe how much vintage Japanese ceramics I found today, and for good prices too!
Still no camera, but I will be taking photos soon.

My little boy set up his "office" in our bedroom. Love that there is so many ornaments on it! I guess he picked that up from my desk lol!

Anthropologie Homewares Rock!

Anthropologie is a gorgeous store but has always been hideously expensive despite it's hippy, down to earth look. Even on ebay, prices are way high. These glass knobs are quite a good price, $6 each. And the flower bracket is on sale for $10. I so want those!

Pretty china, I especially love the yellow cabbage leaf set. Not my colours but I adore them all the same. I bet my mother in law would love that set! Yellow is her favourite colour. The main reason I would love to be an interior decorator is for the fun of doing rooms in colours and styles that are so not something I could live with but that I love all the same.

These tea towels are divine but a bit steep at $18 US each. Not good if you have a husband that wipes up spaghetti with my best tea towels. Jon - they are for drying dishes ONLY - @#$%!@$!!!
These are so prettily graphic that I would frame them. AND they have my beloved birds on them :)

I have no idea if they ship to Australia. The brackets are the only item I really would love to have. Everything else I have seen similar items around the traps.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to all of you, I hope it is a safe one for you and filled with lots of chocolate that does not go straight to your ass :)

I am loving my latest swap, the pink and green Spring Fling
swap. The challenge was to find thifted, crafted or store bought items that are pink and/or green and representing each letter of the word "Spring." Some of those letters were quite a challenge!
I am ready to send out my parcel to my partner Sally and as you can see from the picture above, she is ready to send her parcel to me! I can't wait! I am already in love with the doiley she has wrapped one of the packages in.

Forgot to add these with my other Easter decorating posts. I always love to decorate this particular candelabra for the holidays. Lots of easter egg baubles and vintage glass birds.

A poem by one of the girls from my "pretty chic" yahoo group. Her name is Jullie and she is so very entertaining :)
Her blog is in my links - she has the most wonderful collections.

May your easter be pretty chic,
and may the eggs stay wrapped
and their fillings not leak.
When the bunny comes to you
may it be on next doors lawn
If he should need to poo!
And please oh please I really beg,
Let the chocolate be Cadbury
and not a no name type egg.
Then when it"s all finished,
{the eggs and the greed }
may our weight be diminished,
Oh please meet our need !
Is it too much to ask
for a guilt free type feed ?
One thing more - i almost forgot
Please scrap all these memories,
They mean such a lot !

Tom Thinks He Is Human...

....and judging by the way he always takes the best spot in the bed and the comfiest pillow, he thinks he is the boss of the family!

New Things, New Displays

I received the blue Prayer Lady Canisters I bought off ebay, just in time to cheer me up after my hell week and weekend.
I have put them on top of the microwave with a pink friend for lack of having anywhere else to put them.

I rearranged the display above my cupboards - green in the middle now! Swapped around pieces from other rooms and colour blocked.

I even changed around this little corner shelf. No shadow box on top now, instead some cute little porcelain figurines bought at a thrift shop for $1 each!

Horror Weekend

My week just got worse when the weekend arrived.
After my trials and tribulations with the Muffia, I was looking forward to working at V & B all weekend and playing with the china, including the cute Easter range, some of which is pictured above.
The sister of my high school best friend and bridesmaid came in to buy some china and I asked her how my friend was as I hadn't seen her for a while. The sister looks at me like I am insane and says "She isn't with us anymore". So I ask "Where has she gone?" "She died."
Even worse, I find out that she died six months ago. The girl who was assigned to call me never called to let me know.
As you can imagine I was stumbling around the rest of the day in shock.
The next day I was on my way to work and the bloody train was late. I got there at 11.45 and it arrived at 12.35. I started work at 1 so was starting to panic. After one station we all get kicked off the train because somebody has committed suicide on the tracks.
Later on, back at home I smell gas but that happens sometimes when the hot water is on. This keeps getting stronger and stronger and I am starting to feel sick and light headed. I go and check the stove and one of the burners is turned to on but not lit.
There could have been four more fatalities, thank God I discovered the burner. No idea how this got turned on. You have to push in and turn to make it work so I don't think I did it when I was cleaning the stove top.
I just pray that this will be a better week.
